Summer activities in Noosa - Our Top Options

Noosa in the summer is, quite simply, the place to be.

Name a better place, with an equally amazing atmosphere, beaches you could retire on and stacks of nearby activities to keep you occupied. It might be possible, but combined with the unique community, Noosa stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Throw Down a Towel at Noosa Main Beach

There is nothing that comes close to the feeling of letting go of the outside world, leaning back on a beach towel, and soaking up some sun and beachside breeze. Of all the places in the world to enjoy a relaxing day on the beach, Noosa ranks very highly.

Little Cove, just off the Main Beach of Noosa, is an incredible spot. If you’re new to Noosa, or even if you’re a seasoned traveller that hasn’t seen as much of the area as you’d like, we strongly recommend visiting Little Cove. Spread out a towel and enjoy the ambience.

If you’re spending some time on the main beach, be sure to drop in Miss Moneypenny’s for a drink. If you’re feeling hungry, try Season’s – although we highly recommend you book in advance, because they are very popular.

If you’re taking a day out to spend some time at the beach, consider putting in a walk along the way – Little Cove is right next to the hiking paths at Noosa National park, always worth a visit.

Noosa National Park Coastal Walk

Noosa National Park is central to the entire town of Noosa and perfectly located for a stroll at dawn, as it’s only a short drive from just about all the popular accommodation spots in Noosa itself. We highly recommend that all visitors to Noosa make the effort to take a daybreak stroll through Noosa National Park, which is a perfect combo with an early morning session on the beach.

If getting up before the crack of dawn doesn’t sound like a holiday activity to you, Noosa National Park can also very much be enjoyed at sunset. There are plenty of great vantage spots to watch the sun disappear behind the horizon, and then it’s just a short walk to the bars and restaurants along Noosa main beach to finish off the evening.

Sip Cocktails at Miss Moneypenny’s

Miss Moneypenny’s is the place to be on any evening of any week, year-round. It’s the central hub of Noosa for everyone who’d like a quiet cocktail. Inspired by the Mediterranean, Miss Moneypenny’s menu leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. It’s an excellent spot for finishing up a long day on the beach or catching up with friends.

We recommend:

Botanical Smash – an exciting blend of gin and tropical flavours with a dash of lemon zest, served with seasonal herbs. This is a great complement to a warm day with a cool breeze.

Sailor Sour – chasing something with a bit of a twist? Try something with a little rum, a little vanilla, shaken up with a touch of vermouth and a couple of other ingredients that we’ll leave as a pleasant surprise.

Coconut Grenade – you can’t go past a coconut cocktail on a beach holiday. The Coconut Grenade brings a mango twist to a rum and white chocolate liqueur, a perfect complement to that Pina Colada you had earlier.

Hire A Boat!

There’s nothing like a day out on the water with some friends and family, soaking up the sun and enjoying the best that life has to offer. Boat hire is a booming business in Noosa, and you’re very likely to find a boat that suits your needs at very competitive prices.

Want to spend some time out on the water but don’t have a boat license? There are several providers of engine-restricted boats in Noosa. Many outlets provide a range of pontoon boats that come fully equipped with toilets, barbecue area, plenty of seating and all the gear you need to have a cook-up and do some fishing.
