The launch of Luke Nguyen’s latest cookbook was held at Trio’s last night. What a lovely man – telling us stories of his parents being boat people and arriving in Australia and settling in Cabramatta and how his mum would send him to buy 1kg of chillies and send him back because he didn’t buy the best, how he’d need to buy 50g from one greengrocer, 100g from another until he had sourced the absolute best and how he learnt from both his parents how to cook. He’s perfected the skill. The meal was varied and delicious!
